trebor99
A little question that's been nagging me and I can't seem to find: Is there a way to reset the default colors of the color palette? I often customize colors but would like to be able to reset the color palette to the default settings of all the colors. Not a big deal but just curious. TIA.. ski
In L7, I believe that trashing the prefs would reset the colors. Maybe it's the same for L8.

ski
Hi Trebor99, No sweat. Funny, though, I was thinking about this just the other day myself, because I was messing with my color palette and thought about resetting it. First of all, here's where the prefs are located: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.plist I'd like to suggest that before you trash your prefs, make a thorough inventory of how they're set, especially your audio prefs (they can be critical). An easy way to do this is to take CMD+SHIFT+4 screenshots of the preference "panes". Or write them down somewhere. I know, pencil and paper is so low-tech... Trashing prefs will cause your EXS-24 preferences to revert to default settings, so if you're an EXS user make sure you take note of those pref settings as well (go to an instance of EXS and note your VM and Pref settings, both under "Options" on the EXS GUI). Trashing prefs will also quite possibly trash the items in your "Open Recent..." list of songs. Once gone, that list is irretrievable. So for safety, click on the menu so that it hangs down and then take a CMD+SHIFT+3 screenshot of it so you have a view of it for later reference. Finally, trashing the prefs will cause your key commands to revert to their default state. So the best way to trash prefs is to simply move that file to the desktop. Then re-start Logic and re-import your key commands from that old prefs file.
trebor99
Excellent!.. thanks for the expert advice ski.. sounds fairly involved but doable and will add to my getting-under-the-hood experience w/Logic (so to speak).. once I accomplish that I'll leave the preset colors alone and limit my custom color activities. Thanks.. Trebor
