increase/decrease the volume of a note.

I have been playing with notes in the matrix editor but certain notes are either too loud or too soft. How might I increase or decrease the volume of individual notes?

Choose the velocity tool and drag up or down on the notes. Watch them change color as you do that. The horizontal line in the middle of the beam representing the note also indicates the velocity of a note.

I find it very useful to always have an Event List open as floating window, so I can change values (velocity or others) using the normal mouse pointer. If linked (standard), notes selected in the piano roll or elsewhere are automatically shown and selected in the Event List as well. Mostly. If not, deselect and select again.

Event Float is priceless for this.

Because it's a float window, you can work with

it right next to the notes in the Matrix Edit.

Nearly always easier than swapping out the

velocity tool for the cursor and vice versa.
