mikehurst
When I open Logic I get an error Message reading "Error reading/writing file "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" ": (Followed by some computer jargon) The only option is "cancel" so I click it. Then I get another message saying "The preferences are not loaded completely. Do not save them, as you would overwrite the preferences with incomplete data" Then I click ok.... and nothing will play back in my song. All I have done since using logic yesterday, is moved my itunes music folder to an external drive. Any help? ideas? I want to get back to making music
David Nahmani
Are you using a control surface? If you aren't, delete the following file, which appears to be corrupted: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs
mikehurst
control surface? Like a midi controller? Or a firewire interface? I have a firepod and an M audio keyboard hooked up. But they've both been working fine. Should I still go ahead and trash the file?
David Nahmani
Yes. And first try without the M-Audio keyboard hooked up - it might be the culprit, if it wants to behave as a control surface.
mikehurst
ok. Thanks david. Im leaving for work right now, but I'll try it out when I get back tonight and post what happens.
David Nahmani
If my suggestion works, then you may want to look into your M-Audio keyboard manual to make sure it's not in some sort of "Control Surface" mode like "HUI emulation" or something. mikehurst
I tried starting logic with the M audio keyboard unplugged, and on different presets such as "general midi" and "unassigned controllers". Still getting the error codes, so Im gonna trash the file and see what happens.
mikehurst
So I found a file called com.apple.logic.pro.plist in ~/Library/Preferences And I found the file com.apple.logic.pro.cs but it was in ~/Library/Preferences/Logic Is it in the wrong place? Or should it be in the logic folder inside the preferences folder like it is? Just wondering if maybe thats the problem. Edit----------------------------------------------------- I trashed the file and now logic is happy and working wonderfully Many thanks.
