tchabt
I'm trying to record on a track(using merge) that already has several midi regions. I already know that to see all the midi data from all regions you need to turn off link mode for the score editor. But, when I go to record new data on that track I would like to see the data already existing plus any new data I'm entering in notation form as I'm recording .As far as I can tell, when you hit record, all the previous data temporarily disappears until you hit stop-then it comes back once recording is finished. Is there any way around this default behavior? Appreciate any help!
David Nahmani
Is there any way around this default behavior? Appreciate any help!! Unfortunately not. I mean not on the same staff. You could use Same Level link mode to see several staves, in which case you could record on a different track while looking at your original track, THEN merge... but that's not exactly what you asked. ski
Here's an idea... Create a new track and assign it to "no output". Copy your regions to that track and merge them so that you're dealing with just one region. Open a separate score editor window for that region and turn link off. This will give you a guide to what you've already played. You can continue to record on the other track. Does that work?
