dream
Hi! I've been studying up on bluegrass guitar for the past few months and I have a whole new inspiration, and respect for that style. I've been playing guitar since '86, but I have to say it's like learning the guitar all over again with techniques like banjo rolls on guitar, cross picking, reverse cross picking, flat picking, playing bass and rythm with R thumb and melody with the rest of the fingers. If you like this style, check out Johnny Hiland on youtube. He is just insane. So is Doug Seven, Danny Gattan, Tommy Emanuel, and many more... woodenboy
I saw Johnny Hiland when I was visiting Nashville, he's nuts. But recently back here in Scotland I've seen Chris Thile (mandolin) and Bela Fleck (banjo) .... for me they are two parts of the holy trinity of Bluegrass, the third part of which is the AWESOME Jerry Douglas on Dobro. If you don't know any of those guys, do yourself a favour and check them out!!!
