dcoz3md
im thinking about getting the blue pop or the Popless Voice Screens vac-6c. does anybody have any suggestions on either of these or any other pop filter?
ChicoSatis
I actually am not sure of which is the best pop filter but when you do have Plosives try this. Create a new track under your vocal track and name it Plosives or whatever you want really. Then go and cut out the Plosives from the vocal and put it on your new Plosive track. Then put an EQ on the Plosives track and filter the bass frequency anywhere from 120 to 200 HZ. I'm telling you this gets rid of all plosives. Since I discovered this technique I've never had any problem dealing with plosives. But of course still use a pop filter. It's just that occasionally a Plosive might get through. It's a great fixer upper. Sorry to be a bit off topic but I LOVE this technique. It works every time. Have a good one.
fader8
Do you record country music much? If you're going to be working with tobacco chewing vocalists, you'll appreciate the washability of the metal screen type. They work well. Proper spitoon placement is important too! Doug Decker
In my experience, without a doubt, the most effective pop filter is the Stedman Proscreen XL. No HF loss, complete elimination of bursts, and it's washable. http://www.stedmancorp.com/

Cx I suppose the reason is, incredibly, that 2 layers of that stuff over a coat hanger actually DOES work rather well. People like K & M and Steadman have just made "old pantihose" into a pretty product .............. - C
