hotcheese
Hi I have a rex loop and I want to apply individual processing to each slice. I imported the loop into EXS24 with each slice mapped to a range of the keyboard, and I also created an individual zone for each slice. Everything here works as expected i.e. I hit a key and just the individual slice plays back. However I imported the resulting .exs file into Ultrabeat, however when you trigger one slice in Ultrabeat the whole loop plays not not the individual slice. Is there some setting in EXS24 I have to enable to get each slice to play individually in Ultrabeat, or is there any way of importing .rexs directly into Ultrabeat? Thanks
wiffbi
As far as I am aware, EXS supports playing parts of a larger sample – so you load the whole sample, but define by start and end in the edit-window what is actually played from EXS. I assume this is how rex-import works: it takes the whole sample and maps the different slices to different start and end points on each key. UB does not support this, it can only play back the whole sample (although you can define a start point in UB by moving the max/min-sliders in the sample display (very fiddly btw), but there is no way to define an end-point, only by releasing the note at the exact time). So, to make it short: no luck with firect import into UB. You have to cut the sample up in mulitple single sample-files…
Rounik
you can change the attack, decay, sustain and release in the envelope for each voice in Ultrabeat. You can also change the length of the trigger in Ultrabeat's step sequencer and set up start and end points as wiffbi mentions. Cheers
