my CPU meter is going crazy!

So, I just recently purchased a brand new Macbook Pro(2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB memory), and Logic Pro. I've had this setup for months and haven't had any troubles, and now, all of a sudden, Im getting so much skipping and odd clips when I try to playback or record. My CPU meter is constantly fluttering from the bottom to the top. Can someone help me out here? I don't understand why this just started, my laptop has plenty of space and power.

Did you try rebooting? I have a completely different system, but I experienced sometimes it seems to be in a bad mood and stutters and stops even after several tries, but after rebooting the sun's shining again.

Try turning off your airport. I was having the same problem. It started after I did a software update. Apparently, the airport update effects logic somehow. Good luck.

That did help it a little bit, thanks. Unfortunately my CPU bar is still not as smooth running as it used to be.

Hi,

I had the identical same issue. Its the update called "Airport Extreme 2008-001" that does it. Not a clue why, my only guess is its making the airport card spam the pci bus with requests but apple need to address this issue quick as it seems a very common complaint.
