Pre-mix inputs for recording in L7 og L8?

I wonder if it's possible to "sub mix" inputs, before directing them to audio tracks for recording? E.g. I would like to be able to mix 4 inputs with string sections on each to one track, so I only need to record one track of audio for this. Is that possible in Logic 7 or 8?

Yes, create the 4 input objects in the environment, set their output to a bus, and on an audio track set the input to that same bus and record it.
