Champers
Hi, I have a Lacie d2 Quadra 500GB external hard drive. I've been using it for the last 6 months via FW800. I now want to use it via eSATA so that it'll all run a bit smoother when I'm recording a lot of simultaneous audio tracks. I bought an eSATA express card from SPAN.com (here in the UK). Their website said it would work with OSX no problem. I can't get it to work. When it arrived it even had a disc with a driver on it, but the driver was for OSX 10.4.x I'm running 10.5.2 on a MacBook Pro. I've been back in touch with SPAN.com and they say they don't offer any support for MAC users (what a surprise!) I was wondering if anyone else out there has bought one of these cards from them and have they managed to get it working alright? I know the HD is fine as it works no problem with FW & USB When I plug in the eSATA card, the icon appears in the top bar but only gives me the option to power it off. The drive does not appear to be connected. I've been trawling the internet for the last couple of days for drivers and have tried installing drivers from other manufacturers just in-case they work, but to no avail. I'm thinking I might have to cut my losses and buy another one from a more reliable seller that does support Mac users. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanking you in advance, Champers
