overgrowntroll
OK, i downloaded a midi song off the internet. I change the volume on some tracks, but after hitting play, it goes straight back to the original volume. There is no automation on and i have deleted the automation for all tracks several times just to make sure. This is frustrating, it should let me change the volumes on an individual channel without resetting itself. Anyone have any suggestions? m-m-m
check the hyper editor ... I DL'd a midi track and it had patch volume (or something similar) built into the start of the midi track. Just delete it and it should be fine.
overgrowntroll
i just tried it but no luck. I selected 'Delete hyper set' and 'delete event definition' but it didn't change anything. Im sure it is something simple but i cannot think what.
overgrowntroll
ok, i dont get it. I was having this problem for the last few days. I just re-booted the same project and now its working as it should. I can change the volume sliders and they will stay there. Anyone else encountered this? St3pHaNi3
I've got Logic Pro 7 and this happens to me quite often and it's really annoying!! It seems to reset the volumes of all my channels in my mix and only way to stop it is either by restarting Logic or even my iMac. I'd be really pleased as well if anyone knows how to permanently fix this!
overgrowntroll
ok, it hasn't sorted itself out. I had the track selected and solo'd using the 'S' key. This way i was able to change the volume and have it stay there. The minute i take solo off and press play, it goes straight back to the original volume setting. Anyone have a clue? Help will be really appreciated as deadlines are soon and i need to mix this project. thanks in advance!!
ChicoSatis
Hi Not really sure what it could be but at least for now so you can meet your deadline I'd just put a gain plugin on your strip and adjust from there. Or just send it off to an aux and use that track to adjust the volume of your midi track. Usually once the pressure of a deadline is over you can sit down and more clearly analyze the problem. At least that is what I find. Have a good one.
camillo jr
overgrowntroll: Select your midi track and then open the event editor (key command - "toggle event editor") where you can see what's at the head of the track. If you see a line near the beginning of the list in the event editor that has control 7 info on it (volume), delete it. Likewise Control 10, if you want to have any choice in the panning. St3phani3, you may be accidentally hitting the key command for "Toggle (mute) audio tracks". Look it up in your key commands list and see what's assigned to it. Skyflash36
I had this issue where a single 2 bar midi region I recorded and copied over 20 or so bars, the volume fader kept resetting. It was driving me nuts . I nailed it down to a single verticle stripe that copied on every region and upon opening it in the piano roll editor, I clicked at the bottom to find that midi controller data from my K2000 was recorded by accident when my modulation wheel was left in a forward position. This same single midi event was recorded across every region. I went in, deleted the copies, wiped the controller data and all was forgiven. Stevo Da Devo
I've had this problem when copying midi regions from Reason. I've found that if I alt+click and copy the region into a new instrument track it works around it. Probably not the ideal solution.
