Mitaibeats
I just switched from Pro tools to logic express. I'm just getting started, reading through the manual, all that... I just have a few questions I've been having trouble figure out. I'm sampling straight into Logic, just recording from records. Once I have recorded I try and edit the sample into a loop, but how do I set the tempo to the sample? also how would I speed up or slow down that sample?? thanks guys mi
fader8
If it's a 4-bar loop, select it, then paint 4 bars with the locators up in the global area, then select "Options-Tempo-Adjust tempo using region length and locators". For speed up and slow down, do you mean with or without changing pitch?

fader8
from then how would you set up logic to be able to trigger those samples with my trigger finger? like if I chopped up my sample into 16 pieces You can use "Strip Silence" to help chop it up into bits. Then when you have the seperate regions in the arrange, open an instance of EXS24 and click Edit. Drag the regions from the bin, not the arrange, into the exs editor and map them to the keys you want that match your percussion pads. Save your new EXS instrument and you can use it any time you like.
