wip
according to the manual, all you need to do to point the EXS to a samples folder on an external drive, is to make an alias of the original sampler instrument and store it on the internal sampler instruments folder well, when i do this and relaunch Logic, the EXS shows me nothing! what's the deal? i really need to start building my sample-librarys outside my internal drive. k
steveH
Should work if you've done it correctly... 1. Place the sample instrument (and its samples) on the external drive. 2, Make the alias. 3. Place the alias in the Sample Instruments folder on your system drive: Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/Logic/Sample Instruments Steve H. wip
thanks. however, making an alias didn't do it. i had to copy the sampler instrument and set the EXS24's preferences to 'search all drives' under the 'search samples on:' option. k
steveH
Interesting. My Mac Pro is set to search local volumes only and it finds my sample aliases on all of my external drives.... Hmmm.... I wonder?
