ski
I was at the Apple store when I replied. And right after that I discovered a bug involving System Preferences and its Keyboard & Mouse panel that doesn't get fixed with a reboot. Funny thing, just as this happened I overheard the tail-end of a conversation that a Mac consultant was having with a bunch of prospective customers standing next to us; she said something to the effect of, "...these systems are pretty much foolproof..." just as I crashed the System Prefs and said to my wife, "look, I found a bug -- I crashed the system preferences". Oh well, there's the sales pitch and then there's reality, eh? So I called one of the salesguys over to show him what was going on with the System Prefs. Deer in headlights. I think they're going to have to re-install the system on that computer -- the top-of-the-line MacBook Pro. Didn't exactly instill confidence in my wife who's looking to buy that very computer... After that, I tried to launch Logic on another model of MBP. Took forEVER for Logic to launch. Unbelievable. So all in all it was a typical day at the Apple store, for me anyway: walk in, try something out, crash an application, check my email, walk out.
