"Disk is too slow or system overload -10010", I get this when I tried playing a demo track on the cd that came w/ Logic Pro.

Specs:

2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor

2GB of DDR2 SDRAM

160 GB 5400-rpm hard drive

Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB of DDR2 SDRAm shared with main memory

HELP!?!!! Suggestions, answers, comments!?!

Hi:

copy the track from the CD to somewhere on your computer, like the desktop, and then open it in Logic from there.

You are forcing Logic to access data from a CD drive, which has very poor (slow) addressing.

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much.......it worked!!!! I posted this same question in the forums of 2 other websites and they told me all kind of crazy stuff. One guy even told me to buy an external hard drive. The smartest one told me to come to this website.

Putting audio projects on a secondary drive (internal or external) is a very good idea, for basically the same reason that you experienced with the CD.

If you have similar problems with your own projects in future, it is worth considering.

Glad you figured it out.

Guess eventually I'll buy that 500GB wireless router/hard drive thing they have available. Right now I am trust trying to figure out how to use the software. GarageBand was a little more easier. I gotta get a hold of some good books. Thx again.
