I'm using Logic Pro 7 and I've been watching videos on Logic Studio and I really dig the multi channel settings for the Ultrabeat which entails setting up multiple aux channels for sub mixing. I don't want to upgrade quite yet to Logic 8 due to lack of cpu and space so, please no replies to upgrade. How do I set up multiple aux's in my environment and do I need to do anything besides change the channel for each drum in Ultrabeat or do I have to bus that track out to the aux's...if that makes sense. Welcome to the Logic7 legacy club ! ! ! ! - Go to your environment screen and select New > Audio Object (it's right down the bottom of the pull-down menu of "New") - When you assign this object to be an Aux, you will see that Logic always allows you the option of choosing one more Aux object than you have already created. Ie: If you already have six Aux channels, Logic will offer you 1 to 7 as the assignment for the new one. - You need to make SEVEN aux channels in all to handle the Ultrabeat outputs, as the "Main" designation within Ultrabeat will always appear on the channel where you insert the plugin. Your Aux channels are for Ultrabeat's 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-16. - These channels will appear in the Global Mixer when you select to show "Aux" in the sidebar. They will be separated in distance in the mixer display from your instrument plugin channel, which can be annoying when you're trying to balance Ultrabeat's outputs in a mixdown, but there is a nifty workaround: Instead of only displaying the Global Mixer, create a layer in the Environment which only contains the Ultrabeat instrument strip and the 7 Aux's. Make a separate Envionment window showing this layer as part of your mixdown screenset and you have all your drums in one window ! - C Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
