be.pearse
I may be wrong about my whole approach to this, but is there a better way to create a fully GM Compatible MIDI file in logic than using the AU Instruments-->Apple-->DLS Music Device as the input to a software instrument channel? I dont know much about GM in logic so any help would be greatly appriciated
Matt Mayfield
That's the only GM synth available in Logic without any third-party software. There are many good-sounding ones out there, or maybe you have a hardware GM synth. The DLS Music Device is the "lowest common denominator" - if your file sounds good on that low-end synth, it'll sound good anywhere. That's the synth someone would hear if the surfed to a Web site and played it in the browser.
