rushton
Hey guys i just got my logic 8 upgrade pack and i dont have enough disk space to install logic 8 and dont have much that i can delete. Is it possible to delete logic 7 or do i need that to do the upgrade? Im running a macbook and have 36gb of disk space left and need 46 or so. Any help would be much appreciated. acidtest
During the set up you have the option not to download the jam packs. I'd recommend installing the jam packs to an external hd. You can still install Logic 8 w/o the jam packs.
prjkt
i installed logic onto my system drive, installed the jam packs on a seperate drive, and then moved the exs nad ultrabeat samples to the audio drive aswell, leaving an "alias" for each folder in the app support/logic folder i moved the apple loops too, but logic doesn't see past the alias there, so i deleted the apple loops index and then dragged the moved apple loops folder onto logic's browser to create a new index
shivermetimbers
You only need the serial # from LP7 to do the upgrade. I don't think LP7 took up that much HD space and would not really help out by deleting it. I would suggest you seriously consider an external HD because you will need one soon anyway. Before installing L8, format the new external drive for a mac and move everything you don't really need over to the Ext HD. The external drive seems to be a common theme here.
