I just bought the Uno midi interface (midi to USB) and i cant get sound to come out...when i start logic pro and play notes i see it comin thru but with no sound coming out

...i figured it has something to do with the setup but who knows...anyways if i could get any help it would be very appreciated :o

A couple of preliminaries that we need to be sure you understand: MIDI and AUDIO signals are not the same thing. Never have been and never will be. If you want to hear the sounds from your Triton and record them into Logic, you need to have an AUDIO interface. Connect the outputs of the Triton into the inputs of the AUDIO interface. Connect the outputs of the AUDIO interface (probably via firewire) into the mac. Then you need to configure Logic to recognize your audio interface and accept the incoming audio onto an audio track.

Connecting the triton via a MIDI interface will allow you to use the triton as a midi controller. You said you see midi data coming through into Logic, so now you need to assign that MIDI data to something, like a softsynth. Create a software instrument track, set its input to one of Logic's many synths (like ES1), record enable the track and then try playing. You should hear the softsynth play. You won't hear the Triton play because you are using its MIDI data, not AUDIO signals.

If none of this makes sense, then spend a few hours with Logic's Getting Started manual. That should send you in the right direction.

thanks for your help!

hey what audio interface would you recommend? what i need to do is sequence on logic rather than the keyboard so if i could get the midi notes up on logic then convert them to audio but also make sure i get the sounds from the korg...

i've never set this stuff up, the systems i used before were already setup and i am used to using pro tools rather then logic

anyways thanks alot for your help
