torsig1967
I just noticed that the names of the midi ports are wrong in the Library view of Logic 8. For instance, I have two IAC busses and also another port is duplicated. Can I manually correct this error?
David Nahmani
Are you on 8.0 or 8.0.1? I had a duplicated port in 8.0 but now it disappeared and everything looks fine in 8.0.1.
torsig1967
Are you on 8.0 or 8.0.1? I had a duplicated port in 8.0 but now it disappeared and everything looks fine in 8.0.1. I'm on 8.0.1. Seems like I can fix it by creating Environment objects for the midi ports (one multi instrument per port) the names are automatically updated in the library. However, that's a bit tedious. Since I want to start with en empty project for each new session, I'll have to do this every time. I also tried to trash the midiandaudio setup preferences and logic preferences, but that didn't help. Are there any additional locations where I can look for (and trash) corrupted preferences related to midi devices?

Or if you're saying that you can fix it in the environment, then fix it and save your new file as a template ("Your empty project").
torsig1967
Actually, it seems like the problem is partly solved if I connect stuff to every port in the AUdioMidi Setup Utility. Then Logic uses the names of those objects as port names. Still I'm having problem with my controller (TranzPort) since it doesn't allow connections in the AMSetup Utility. It is still shown with a incorrect port name in the Library. === Well, no big deal, just a small bug. Since the correct names are shown in the inspector Apple should be able to deal with it easily. Logic already "knows" the correct port names but "forgets" to report them to the LIbrary.
