rexxe
Hello, I recorded my band at 96Khz sampling rate and realized after the fact that it is overkill and I want to save some CPU cycles by down-sampling to 48Khz. I converted all the aiff files to 48Khz using Copy and Convert in the Audio Bin, then I changed the sample rate of the project to 48Khz. However, now my comps are all messed up because the takes inside the track folders are not lining up properly. For example, if there was a take recorded at measures 50-60, that take is showing up at 150-160. I haven't found a way for Logic to let me move the takes and I'd rather just have them lining up properly, obviously, after the conversion. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Did I do something wrong? Thanks for your help!
rexxe
No one has experienced this issue? This thing is really killing me. I've tried it a couple of times now and Logic just refuses to keep the takes lined up properly. I tried Lock to SMPTE and that didn't work. Anyone? m-m-m
I had a bit of a problem with takes not lining up, but the circumstances were different, and mine were only a fraction of a second off. When I was having this problem, a few people here said things like "Logic doesn't like it when takes are different length" and "quick swipe comping has some bug issues". What I ended up doing was re-importing the takes onto new tracks, making sure they were all the same length and then packing a new take folder. It was kind of a tedius task due to the way I originally recorded those folders. I hope you can get it all straightened out.
rexxe
Man that sucks. My takes are literally not even close to where they're supposed to be and of course Logic doesn't let me move takes so there is literally zero way to fix it keeping them in a take folder. I guess I have to do what you did which is such a huge waste of time. I wish they would've spent a lot more time squashing bugs..... Thanks for your help. rexxe
I was able to do what I want by unpacking the take folder, merging any comps, then converting the audio to 48KHz, then converting project to 48KHz, and then packing to take folders. A decent workaround I suppose but I lose all comp information.
