Peter Project
I recently switched over computers from a G4 Dual to a Mac Pro (Rad...) and since switching, I've suddenly noticed a strange high end, almost aliasing noise when I use guitar amp pro. I've had to Low pass it out.It shows up on logic's analyzer plugin I'm still using the same Presonus Firepod. I swear I never heard this on my old system. I'm running logic 7.2 Any ideas? -PP
amnestic
Hmmm... I've had that too on the more distorted factory settings... I've always thought it was just the effect inside Gutar Amp Pro. Like, the feedback you would get from recording a live amp in a room. Have I been lying to myself?! Do you have an example of the high-end sound that we can hear? Maybe a recorded take? ChicoSatis
Hi I find pretty much all digital recording software has a VERY prominent Hi end Fizzy sound for lack of a better term. I always filter it out and it sounds MUCH better after. I do this on all simulators not just GAP. Have a good one.
jonkuzma
Hi..Yeah keep in mind you are using a computer that will go, or rather keep going in both directions as to frequencies..Synths also just keep going down into mud.. Even thought you can't hear it,,it is there..The same with something like GAP..The highs don't stop like a normal guitar amp and speaker would..So using filters for both the hi and lo end is what I do..You'll be surprised at how much tighter things start to sound..JON 1's and 0's will just keep going is the basics of the thing.. Peter Project
I don't know if my ears suddenly matured, but I really don't remember hearing it this bad. This sounds weird, but you know how it feels to chew on tinfoil? This is the audio equivalent. I can't explain why, but this high frequency noise gives me shivers! I've been using GAP quite a bit, and I only JUST noticed it. I don't get it out of UAD-1s Nigel.

If I remember correctly the workaround was to insert the plug-in in stereo instead.
Peter Project
Eric... You are a great.... great man. May your cupboards forever be filled with the finest single malts, and your fridge with the freshest of left over pizza breakfast. You rule. -PP
