What is this used for...?

It's a "multi instrument", an Environment object (representation of a real-world device) that typically lives in the MIDI layer of the Environment. It represents an external multi-timbral synthesizer, with each of the boxes representing a MIDI channel (1 - 16). It also has "internal" uses in Logic. If connected ("cabled") to an audio instrument it can provide a way of assigning tracks to different channels of a multi-channel (or multi-timbral) instrument plug.

Ok, is there any tutorials on how to connect them, and the out come so I can hear, and see?

It's just a way to route MIDI data, there's no sound in there. Unless you're trying to do something specific with a multi-channel 3rd party plug-in, you shouldn't need to use one (for external MIDI instruments you can now setup everything in Audio MIDI Setup so you never have to open the environment).
