Voltcontrol909
Hello I recently bought an Access Virus TI and I am moving to logic 8 from motu DP5 as DP5 is not compatible with the virus control software. I've been using DP for about 4 year now so the change really slowed down my work flow. I've got a couple of questions that I hope you all can help me with, so I guess I'll start with this one. What would be the best way to transfer files from DP5 to L8?
Mr. V
I was able to save the DP file in either AAF or OMF format and then import that into Logic. AAF provides the advantage of more or less preserving automation. If your projects also include midi, you might want to import the SMF first, then the AAF. Of course the standard advice is to make sure each audio file begins at 1111. But importing either AAF or OMF with files of various lengths worked out fine. Manuals for both DP and Logic has very helpful chapters on the file transfer process.
Voltcontrol909
Thanks for the reply and the tips I was able to transfer midi files successfully I tried using the OMF method for audio but it gives me two mono tracks (L+R) per stereo track when I import into logic. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
