tangerine
I've just started using Logic Express 7. I have plenty of third party plugins but where do I copy these files to so Logic Express 7 can recognize them and use them. I am using an Intel Mac pro. Can someone help please me out on this one, I am a Logic virgin, I usually use cubase but I want to expand my software knowledge.
reddog
Place your third party plugins into your components folder (Library/Audio/Plugins/Components). The other thing (seeing that you're a former Cubase user) is that they must be audio units and not vsts. Logic can only use audio units. If they are vsts then you'll need a VST - AU wrapper (FXpansion sells one), to convert the vsts into audio units. Then make sure that these converted vsts are placed in your components folder (see above). Also check your original installation disks (assuming you have vsts). Most third party stuff comes packaged with both vst and audio units these days.
