Robscahill
As people have said 1. songs-its fun and you'll pick a lot up, tab is also very nice and easy-look at Ultimate guitar for that 2. youtube- good, quite hard to see whats going on though 3. I have an excellent guitar tuition book which has every single scale, technique and a walkthrough CD etc It is by Mark John Sterman-something like that Total guitar scales, techniques and applications very good
Nublu
3. Write songs. Keep it fun, and try to challenge yourself. Thank-you. Referring back to Ski's post, this is the attitude that a teacher would love to see. (I've had two guitar teachers). Also, it's about learning music that you can appropriately play on guitar. Guitar is not an end in itself.
