I already get a Keyboard Controler plugged in USB (M-Audio 49) I plug the Motif in USB to my Mac and in Midi between the Motif and the keyboard. cycloptic Posted July 15, 2008 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Did you install the midi drivers for your Motif Rack on to your Mac? I can only assume you didn't since that wasn't mentioned in the steps you performed. I have a Motif Rack ES and is not "plug and play" thru its USB port. A USB midi driver is needed. BTW, the USB is only for the midi, there is no audio passing through the USB port. So you will also need a cable to connect the audio out of your rack to the audio in of your sound card or computer if you want the audio to come in to Logic. Logic's Instrument tracks are for software instruments, hardware instruments need an audio or aux track as was mentioned. cycloptic. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Check under FILE>PROJECT SETTINGS>MIDI Click on the Input Filter Tab. Make sure that nothing is checked. Also if you are playing you have to be on a external midi track (hit the plus above the track header). Then select the port your Motif is on in the parameters box on the left.
