Mr Jones
Hi I'm having trouble opening pro tools aif files with logic pro 8.0. When I do it the track is in slowmode and extremely deep. I've also experienced unprovoked feed on midi sounds (especially on the pianos) using a fireface400 sound card and electric piano. The audio recordings are great but it bothers me a bit that the midi section is unstable. Can anyone tell me if u need to convert pro tools aif files before opening with logic? Does anyone know about fireface400 and feeding on midi recordings?
ZoSoCreedy
you ought to open a new topic on the fireface issue, could get passed over people around here highly recommend the RME's and firefaces, what computer are you using?
Mr Jones
thx for replying. no I'm just on mcbook, but the problems I've encountered with RME fireface400 weren't there to begin with and so far the mcbook have had no trouble keepin' up. You think it's the processor?
ZoSoCreedy
shouldn't be, I mean a MBPro is what I got and I've done 16 tracks simultaneus through firewire400 on a standard macbook before, so...Im sure a bigger gear head has a better answer but three things: -up to date software (logic 8.0.2) and osX 10.5.2 -you don't have other programms running that are unneccessary -you have your audio settings set right(inputs and what not) I had recent problems when I was recording, in the middle of laying down a track it just became supper latent. I was kind of dumbfounded, so a simple reboot, update of everything, and a second reboot and no trouble since Good Luck!
davidpye
Sounds like you're session is set to the wrong sample rate. Try changing it up in the Option>Audio Menu at the top of the screen. Try either 88.2khz, or 96khz, use an instrument to check that it's come back up to the right key.
