SubLixx
Without realising I destructively edited the timing of an acapella while experimenting with a half-time feel in a remix I am doing. I obviously have a copy of the original acapella but need a way of replacing the destructed sample within my logic project with the original acapella as it will be impossible for me to repeat the chops/edits I made to the vocal sample regions. I've tried dragging the original sample into the project but it just adds it to the audio bin along with my destructed rubbish sample. I hope this makes sense, I can offer more info if needed. It's really annoying as I had nearly completed the project and is (was) my best work to date. Any help is much appreciated. weeddigger
You should still be able to Undo (Command-Z) your destructiveness...
David Nahmani
A little risky, so make plenty of backups first, but this should work: 1) Delete the destroyed sample from your hard drive. 2) Open the project, you should be prompted to find the deleted audio file. 3) Trick Logic into thinking it's the original file it should be using. Logic may ask you if it's normal they don't have the same name, or something like that, just click yes. I've had mixed results with this workaround, but if you haven't changed the length of the audio file, it should work.
weeddigger
Regarding my suggestion to just hit undo, would that work?
SubLixx
Unfortunately I had already messed with pitching the sample destructively a load of times so I couldn't undo it. Thanks
