Ross Donald
Having acquired an external drive to store my audio files from previously recorded songs, I wondered if there was a quick way of pointing my logic arrangements at the new audio file folder on the new drive without erasing my original audio files which reside on my 'system drive'? This is in an effort to speed up my system. .....I don't know if I have made myself clear?!?
chrisbrownsound
Use "Copy Files" in the Audio Window. After copying you will be asked if you want to change file references.
Ross Donald
Thanks for that.... I'll try this tonight!
David Nahmani
Don't just move the audio files, move the whole project folders. You can do this 'manually' in the finder if you've saved your songs as projects before. If you haven't, open your songs (one by one), and go to File > Save as Project. In the following window, save on the new drive, and check the "move" option for Audio files.
Ross Donald
Thanks David... I did as you suggested.... But I did notice that after saving as project in the external HD, the info above each set of files in the 'Audio Window' varied in terms of the description of their location.... Some have the new location in the file directory info, and some the old..... now I'm confused. Could it be that in fact they have all been copied to the new location, but some of the info has not updated?
estorian
Try with projet options, i mean, go to files/project/to consolidate (i don't know if it is showed like this in english, my logic is in french...) there is some others like clean, etc and go to audio window to see changes
Ross Donald
Thanks.... all suggestions gratefully accepted..... Will look into that this evening.
David Nahmani
You have to have your Audio Files set to 'move' when you save as project. Now you have to use consolidate as suggested. All your files in your Audio Window should show as being located inside the project folder.
