Jean-Paul Perrotte
I have two problems that I think are related . 1) When looking at the score window after recording midi drums in EXS24 the Snare is notated on the middle line of the prec. cleff, the kick is on the bottom line and the High hat is on the top line. They are all off by one line or space from standard drum notation. 2) I'm scoring music for a play and want to use the percussion kit in EXS24 however, the score window's perc. staff will only show notation that is play on the bottom half of the keyboard (C-c') while the percussion sounds are triggered from the middle of the keyboard up (like g-c""). My questions are how do I allign Logic's notation window with common practice notation for the drum kit and allign Logic's notation window for the percussion kit. Thanks, Jean-Paul
David Nahmani
You need to use a 'mapped instrument' in order to create correct and customizable drum notation in Logic. Cable a mapped instrument into the instrument that produces the drum sounds, and assign that mapped instrument to your Drum track in the Arrange window. Jean-Paul Perrotte
Ok... I figured out how to fix question #1 (Score-layout-score styles-pos. etc....) But how do I make that setting default for all my drum kits... all the time. Question #2 still unsolved. Thanks, Jean-Paul
David Nahmani
My answer should solve both issues.
Jean-Paul Perrotte
Thanks David. Working fine but I'm running into new issues. 1) C#5-C6 had no input names. Most I could ID and insert names for except: E5 (wooden vibating stick type thing) and G#5 ? 2) As I trigger notes down the mapped inst. keyboard the samples sound except: G2 and F2-D#0 I get nothing? How do I get these to sound. Thanks, Jean-Paul
stevenson
are you sure that you actually have samples to trigger on these notes? check your esx instrument editor.
David Nahmani
I was going to say the same thing...
