bejeeber
OK gurus, I bet you can advise me on this one: I'm migrating from a Dual Proc G5 to a Quad G5 and have a tonload of apps such as Logic 7, VSL Pro edition, EW libraries, Soft Synths, plugs, blah blah. Is the OSX migration assistant up to this task these days or do I actually have to go back to the frikkin CDs/DVDs and reinstall every darn thing from square one in order to end up with a well functioning system? Or is there some reasonable middle way of approaching this? (Full disclosure: I may also post this question to other forums as I need to jump on this task ASAP.) Thanx! David Nahmani
If you can afford the time, I would definitely do it manually. Nothing like a fresh install to get things started anew. My 2 cents!

bejeeber
Hey that's not what I wanted to hear!!! But it looks like that's what I gotta do - you gurus seem to be unanimous so far. Thanx for the reality check. 8)
David Nahmani
It always reminds me of this time when we moved to a new appartment because our old one was infested with cockroaches. But we took our old couch with us. And with it the cockroaches. We ended up moving again, and this time just getting a new couch. Do it right the first time! (That was the title of a poster hanging in a factory I used to work at....)
Jazzooo
I heard that most accidents occur within five miles of your home. So we moved. Sorry, nothing to add but I am down in Mexico and just got my 'net hooked up. Plugging away at learning Logic, more questions to follow--don't go anywhere, David.
