Richie Barthez
Hi im 2 days into Logic and can't hear any midi sounds coming back from my usb keyboard... I've used it with Garageband and midi playback works instantly? I can see the midi channel light working when I hit the keys? But no sound? RockBottom
> I can't hear any midi sounds coming back from my USB keyboard... Just for the sake of correctness: no sound [no audio signal] does travel on a midi connection, be it USB... And there's no such thing as a midi sound. > I can see the midi channel light working when I hit the keys Good: this is a proof that the active [selected] track actually receives midi events, yet they don't trigger any audio generator: simply plug an audio instrument in the active track, so it'll output some gurgles when triggered. Be aware that this isn't the only solution, as you'll find out by reading the manual.
Richie Barthez
Cheers I know the keyboard itself is just a control & has no sounds... I was looking through the manual for the solution but coudn't find the answer, So you have to link the selected midi channel up to a certain sound bank, I did it by accident at one point and got sound, but don't know what I clicked and lost the sound again Cheers for your help so far
dtl1232
you have to hold down the audio track in the arrange window with your mouse and that will give you a pop up like midi inst, audio track, output etc... choose audio instrument and then scroll to instrument 1 this will send the signal to your keyboard then go to the mixer and and hit insert and choose what software synth you want to use.also, make sure that the midi channel is set to channel 1 for audio instrument 1 and 2 for instrument 2 and so on.good luck hope this helps
