Communication with SimpleSynth dropped

Anybody out there have trouble with Logic dropping communication with SimpleSynth? This happens all the time: create a Soundfont bank of instruments, open it with SimpleSynth, and use Soundfont channels in my autoload to assign channels, etc. Works fine; then Logic will suddenly stop communication. Track LEDs are bouncing, but no sound. Quitting SimpleSynth and/or Logic and reopening usually fixes it.

 

Any ideas why this might happen?
