beastie respond
O.k. I've tried searching the forum for threads where my question has already been asked but couldn't find anything. Here goes. I found some samples here and there that I'd like to do some experiments with. As an example lets say that I've got this atmospheric sound that I would like to use. I've dragged it into the EXS24 editor and can now play with it at different pitches. I'd just like the sample to have the same length when playing other notes than the original one. How do I do this? fader8
Are you saying that you cannot set suitable loop points in the sample, even with a long crossfade?
DrJD
A sampler changes the speed of playback to create different pitches so you will always get different lengths at different pitches. If you want to change the pitch of an audio file but not the length you either have to use a pitch changing plugin such as Vocal Transformer or Pitch Shift II, or the Time and Pitch machine.
