BardicWorks
When I attempt to load certain instruments in the EXS24 sampler, it will begin to load the instrument, get through a certain number of samples (virtually never the same number) then stop, freeze everything on the computer for about 90 seconds, then deliver the message 'I/O Error -36'. Sometimes the sampler will still function correctly, sometimes not; regardless, the files are all present and playable in the sample editor. I've checked the memory settings, and they all seem to be alright, and I've increased the I/O buffer to the max. I'm running Logic Pro 8.0.2 on a Macbook Pro, OS 10.5.6 with 4GB Ram and a 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with about 62 GB of free space left on my hard drive. This didn't start until a few weeks after I installed Logic. Any ideas about what's going on? B.L.A.
mrk
freeze everything on the computer for about 90 seconds, then deliver the message 'I/O Error -36'. To me that sounds like an operating system error - could be the OS is having trouble loading those files from disk. Which suggests a problem with the files or the disk itself. Try opening Disk Utility and checking the SMART status of the drive in question.
BardicWorks
The disk checks out, SMART status is fine, no permissions problems; and it turns out that I can still switch spaces, but I can't do anything in any applications, or switch applications. I'm really wondering about what's causing this I/O error.
triplets
Did you create or import any new samples into EXS 24?
BardicWorks
I have not added or changed any samples since I installed Logic.
