lupin
Hi all, Just to say that I have just got my new MacBook and 7.2. Seriously, this thing is a beast. It rinses what my PB was capable of. I have managed to run a project with 20 audio tracks and 6 instrument tracks, 2 sends, 8 summing busses, 4 GAP, a few SDs and many other plugins. I had to have all these frozen on my PB, and even then it would wheeze, but on the MB, with only one instrument track frozen (that Yamaha Grand one that comes with Logic) the processors are at about 3/4. I might try and unfreeze the piano and see how it takes it. It really has beaten all my expectations, and I have no whining or mooing. It does get hot, but then again so did my PB, and what do you expect from such a powerful machine? The screen is great actually, lovely and crisp, and can be hooked up to a 23" monitor. I can't wait to get this thing out live, I've been thinking of all the possibilities with all this extra power. Anyway, the point of this post is to say that if you have been thinking of getting one, go to the Apple Store now!!!! Best, L
Rolo Tomasi
That's awesome to hear. Especially since I'm this close to spending over 4k on both Logic and the MB. How cool is that that something so small and compact can be so powerful? It really makes we wonder why any home studio user would need a desktop, the MB is the only way to fly, IMHO. BTW, did you go for the Macbook or Macbook Pro? 17 or 15"?
