groovecake
Hey...newbie here. I have been messing with track automation and I have a question. Say I have a Rhodes audio track that I want to raise and drop at certain levels. I draw in the track automation. Fine and dandy. But...what if I want to bring the entire track down or up with the mixer slider? The mixer slider resets to whatever the track automation is set to at the beginning. Is there a way to just have the track move a certain amout up or down with automation while still being able to control where the track sits in the mix with the mixer? Does this make sense? Thanks! camillo jr
Two ways; insert a gain plug (for fine control beyond 1 db increments use controls mode). or turn on automation view for track and command-drag the yellow volume bar line at the right side of the track display. groovecake
I tried the yellow bar thing and it doesn't really work. Things still reset. Is it best to not to track automation until you have done a mix? That can't be right, can it? As I said, I just want the track to drop a bit at certain points. camillo jr
It should work.... are you on Logic Express? Maybe it doesn't work there. Make sure you hold command down, click right on the yellow volume bar graph at the right side of the track, not the line with the nodes on it and then drag up or down. The only time it won't drag is if there's no automation on the track. If there is automation. When you command click that bar, it selects all the automation on the track that's in that mode, like volume for instance or pan.
groovecake
Ah...command drag. I missed that in your first post. I'll try it out. Thanks!
