Logic Sync Stable or Not?

I use adat hd24's with my logic setup with a BRC and motu midi express. I'm running smpte to my midi express from the BRC and Logic reads time code from the midi express.. I have music tracks in Logic and I'm recording vocals on the BRC. Should I run MTC or SMPTE to the midi express for logic to sync correctly. I've been having problems with the smpte. It seems logic will go out of sync. This doesn't happen over a short time period. I can run the song thru from start to finish 7 or 8 times but at some point Logic just doesn't want to sync anymore. Sometimes when I start back at the beginning of the song the sync will be fine but if I stop and start anywhere after the beginning the sync will be off. Go figure!!! What's the best and safest way to sync Logic with my setup of HD24,BRC and midi express with L7. The BRC generates MTC and SMPTE.

Well, I would try both and see what works best.

Logic cannot handle SMPTE, only MTC. If you send MTC to your MOTU it will translate it into MTC for Logic. If you send it MTC it will just pass it on to Logic. So in both case it's the same for Logic, unless there's something going on ahead of the chain.

Seems that the MTC works fine with Logic. I tried using 29.97fps and it didn't lock up as tightly. It even drifted. When I used 30 fps the sync was tight so I guess 30 fps it is. Why in the book does it say to use 29.97 fps.
