Taybot
Is there a way to pan a single note that lasts a while? I have a synth pad that lasts a few bars but it's just one note, I know how to use hyper editor to do it but I think that pans each note doesn't it? So if I have only one note to pan, it won't work. Also, when I bounce my beat out? How do I fade it out, so it doesn't end all sudden? Thanks a bunch!!
Larry Mal
"Automation". You can read up on that in the manual.

No. It pans the instrument itself. Perhaps you could explain in a little more detail what type of pan effect you want? Might help if you described what instrument you're using too. Taybot
yeah actually hyper editor seems to be working for panning the entire instrument, even if it was just one, long lasting note. I'm using a Grandeur pad and hyper editor seems to do the trick. If that doesn't sound right, can someone plz correct me? Thanks!
David Nahmani
If that doesn't sound right, can someone plz correct me? Thanks! Only you can tell us if it sounds right: do you get the effect you want? Then it's right!
pantomimeHorse
Larry has it in a nutshell. - If you want a pad to "sweep" around the club, automate the pan pot on its channel. Not to be overdone, however. Hard right to hard left sounds bloody abysmally bad. 3-4dB is all you need, psychoacoustics being as they are. - pH

Kent Sandvik
nice thx everyone and thx for the tip that hard right to hard left sounds awful! It could be very psychedelic -- remembering Jimi Hendrix using such extreme pans with guitar solos on records...

pantomimeHorse
And the marijuana wasn't as strong then. Think about it. LOL ! There is also the frightening likelihood that whoever was behind the desk was so popped that they neither knew nor cared where the pan pots were ........ - pH
