B_Stone
If so, how? Thanks in advance guys If you look up the arp object in the environment section of the docs, it will describe how you can send standard MIDI controllers to change its behavior. Every parameter can be controlled this way. The Compose electronic template has a clever implementation of the arpeggiator that is setup to output the arp notes into the selected track, so you can record it. If you are trying to transpose and stuff like that, this is easy to do after you make the recording. Unlike the barebones arp object, this environment follows timing changes locked to the beat, so you don't get into a weird situation if the arp is changed from 16 to 8. The barebones arp object switches on some division of a 16th, then gets 'off axis' if you will, and that leads to unpredictable results. the popup menus used to drive the arp program in the Compose Electronic template is a special kind of fader. As such, you can program each menu to receive a controller number to change the menu selection. If you have a button on your keyboard that send standard controllers, you can make the popup menu (fader) listen to the controller and set the timing with the touch of a button. I configured 2 buttons to directly switch to 1/8 and 1/16. Awesome fun.
arkay
B, thanks for the info man What do u mean about the Electonic Template as when I opened it, I couldn't find it.. How do I access it? Do I have to create the object via environment the usual way?
arkay
I can't figure out how to automate it.. Somebody please give me a step by step guide. David, you're the undisputed King of Logic. Help me man! I just want to be able to switch the arp on and off with a button and change its parameters. I've hooked a cable switcher to my arp in environments. Maybe I could activate/deactivate the cable switcher with a single button on my controller?

fader8
Well could you scan those pages and post a link up. arkay, Have you considered B_Stone's suggestion: If you look up the arp object in the environment section of the docs, it will describe how you can send standard MIDI controllers to change its behavior. Every parameter can be controlled this way. How about you give that a try and if you have any specific questions, maybe someone can help you. The Rumblist
Hello guys, Thanks for pointing out that cool Arp Template. Have imported it into my own template, but how do i get the menu to drive the arpeggiator onto my main screen (i.e. the menu that allows you to turn it on from the arrange window, as is on the Electronic music template)?? Do i need to create this manually or is it just hidden away somewhere?? Many thanks in advance, because i'm not that au fait with the environment...yet! The Rumblist
Scrap that, i worked that out in the end. In normal use, does it make the song pointer go a bit jerky for everyone, or is it just me??!!
