My Project Files Are Duplicating Themselves/Deleting Project

And also adding tracks from other projects.

I don't even know how to start describing this--I've been working on an album for an artist for months now. I've got 11 songs, each set up as their own projects. I save regularly during recording.

The other day I went to my projects list to open a file. Many of the songs, which had been saved as Breezes.1, and then Breezes.2 and so on now have versions titled up to .8 and .9 and even .80 and .90 and then even .800 and .900.

I want to make it clear that I did not save songs with any 2-digit extensions like above, and no 3-digit ones either.

And to make things even more confusing, the most recent versions are NOT there. They aren't on the drive I save back up versions to either. But what is there? Slightly less recent versions with the guitar and tambourine parts of completely different songs--and that's on several of the 'saved' versions.

Each song that is wrong comes with a message: "6 Invalid Regions Changed." Or 56 invalid regions, or in one case 120 invalid regions.

There is no way I saved even one version with the guitar part to another song sitting in the middle of it, let alone 5 or 6 or 8 or 9. It just couldn't happen, not the way I work. Sometimes it isn't even the entire track, just a few measures. But these tracks are from other songs, not the ones I'm working on. And I would have noticed when I was saving, because I was saving while working.

I guess part 2 of my question is "how can i delete a project file I don't want anymore?" I can't drag it to the trash from Finder--nothing happens. I've searched the forums and the manual--instructions for deleting projects isn't anywhere I would expect to find it.

Thanks,

Doug
