gwin_7
Hi there. I am having a delay problem with recording in logic. I have tried to find the answers in all topics but seem to not be finding it. I have been recording using the digi 002 interface. It works fine with no delay, tracking vocals, then all of a sudden there is a big delay when i track vocals randomly. It happens when I do not even add anymore instruments or plugins. And once this happens not only does it happen while i record vocals through a digi 002 but it also affects recording on a logic instrument with my midi controller. Every recording of all types has a delay and i cannot play anything in time. I tried closing everything and even restarting my computer but when i open that project the delay is still there. Then when i open an empty project it seems to fix itself. It seems once this happens there is no way to save that specific project. I even tried bypassing the digi 002 and going strait through my computers built in input, still a delay. Tried deleting all tracks, removing all plug-ins but within the project that started having that delay it seems there is no way to get rid of it. This is a very frustrating thing when i put hundreds of hours into a project then i just can't record anymore due to what seems to be an unfixable delay. Please please help if anyone can advise. I have read the posts about the X, Y, phasing stuff but it on a brand new project its perfectly fine and the problem is NOT that the record and playback are off. PS: it not just sounding like a delay and then recording in time (like it sometimes does when you have a lot of plug-ins on that track) i tried recording claps just to a metronome through my computers internal mic and the claps were off time withe the metronome. Eric Cardenas
Are you using buses or/and latency inducing plugins on this project? If your PDC is set to All you could try the Low Latency button.
gwin_7
Are you using buses or/and latency inducing plugins on this project? If your PDC is set to All you could try the Low Latency button. I did have some buses set up and it seems that may be the reason why the delay starts in the first place. But like I said, I tried even deleting all my aux channels and all tracks with plug-ins and striped that same project down to a single audio track and the delay is still there. So with no plugins or buses with plug-ins, that delay still stays. Its as if once that project file starts having a delay there is no way of getting rid of it but to start over.. and obviously that is not the most fun to have to reset up a new arrangement and import midi files and audio files and regions and set up plug-ins. The interesting thing is that if i save that project as a templet then open it as a blank project it still has the delay. But if i recreate that templet from scratch using the exact same plug-ins and buses there is not delay. So it seems to be a glitch with logic or the core audio driver. I will try setting the PDC though and see if anything comes of that. Thanks for the advice! -Bryan
