badkop
Hi there I have a question about the 'freeze files' folder for a project I'm currently working on. This folder contains 6 aif files (all drums and bass), and the folder size is a mammoth 5.86 GB. The aifs are really long, containing mostly silence. I'm new to logic and spent quite a while trying to get multitrack drum edits done, commiting various stupid errors along the way and I think these may be just a bizarre hangover from that. My question is: what are 'freeze files'? Am I likely to kill my whole song by deleting them? Thanks
fader8
Freeze files can get big because even if your project is set to 16 or 24 bit, they get saved as 32 bit files. If there's nothing wrong with your project, you should be able to unfreeze the tracks and Logic should delete them for you.
badkop
Thanks for that, fader8. The stupidest part was that I had the end locator set to around one hour even though the song is about 4 minutes, so I don't think that helped:) Saved a lot of space now.
