bob0172
I hooked up my old SPX990 to logic, but i have severe trouble with latency. My settings: 32 buffer - Created a bus, with the outputs routed to the ins of my effects unit - created another bus with the ins of my soundcard (with the effects full wet) With extremely low buffer latency settings, i still get very high latency. How can i use external effects with reasonable latencies?

bob0172
http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=41101 Thanx but unfortunately there is no clear answer for me in that topic. I want to know: - Why the extreme latency of the full wet signal with low latency settings (32, at 96khz) and what can i do about it? I know lots of people who use external fx, and manage to get reasonable latency settings for reverbs and even chorus.
shivermetimbers
Have you tried going directly out from the channel strip and then back in to a separate audio track?

This can make a huge difference depending on the specifics of the project. Any other plug-ins running? What type of channelstrip are you sending from? Are you using the I/O plug? bob0172
Thanx I put the external effects on a bus, the output of the fx on another buss (with the effects as ins) This way i can control the levels at the aux section of the channelstrips. I dont use the io plug now. But i also tried the reverb directly on a channel, also with high latency. Maybe i can upload a pic later.
