torsig1967
Two automation features are lacking in Logic. Almost all professional automation system have these: 1. Trim. 2. Write to left (locator).
Eric Cardenas
1. torsig1967
Not really... I mean trim interactively using faders, onscreen or with a control surface.

torsig1967
Yeah a real VCA style trim mode is loooooooong overdue. Thanks for clearing that out with me. I love real expert advice from Great Experts. "Certified offender" would be a better title.
fader8
Yeah a real VCA style trim mode is loooooooong overdue. Yes, and my original Emagic Logic Control has the "Trim" button which was put there, according at the time to Michael Haydn, to support Logic's "future" trim automation feature. Well, it's the future now, right? So, can we finally get that feature or what? After all these years I'd like it if that button finally did something! As a workaround you can use a GAIN plug-in to ride in real time.

torsig1967
it's the future now, right? Yeah, where's my flying car? You are really stupid. You didn't use to be. Maybe it's time to get a new job. Seems like you're tired of this.

David Nahmani
You are really stupid. You didn't use to be. Maybe it's time to get a new job. Seems like you're tired of this. Not sure where that's coming from? I actually agreed with you on this feature suggestion! I do honestly think that a VCA style trim automation (which is what you're requesting in this thread) is a long overdue feature in Logic. I found some 2006 posts of mine where I was requesting that feature.
torsig1967
OK, I'm sorry I completely missunderstood what you meant, David. I'll have to take English lessons. My excuse is that English is not my first language. I thought you meant that VCA-style trim was an oldfashioned (overdue) and completely meaningless function for a modern sound engineer. Maybe I was also a little bit irritaded because it's not uncommon to get a lot of "you have to change your workflow" comments when complaining about a weak aspect of software. David Nahmani
Well English isn't my first language either. But as far as I know "long overdue" does not mean old-fashioned. It means that we were expecting this to happen much sooner.
Eric Cardenas
Yeah a real VCA style trim mode is loooooooong overdue. Yes, and my original Emagic Logic Control has the "Trim" button which was put there, according at the time to Michael Haydn, to support Logic's "future" trim automation feature. Well, it's the future now, right? So, can we finally get that feature or what? After all these years I'd like it if that button finally did something! They finally listened to you Randall! Fader trim works beautifully on the LC.
