Editing audio file

I have problems with editing only a selected audio file. I want to cut off pieces from a long audio file and paste them in the right position in the global view. So I just want to quickly change between the global view and the selected audio and want the marker position stayed on the same position..

 

I want to put an effect underneath a video, so I see where I would like to place it in the global view. I place the marker and when I click on the audio from where I need to cut, I can't see the marker in the sample viewer. Also, can't just delete the rest of the file, also can't copy from the audio and paste in the global view as it doesn't allow me. I just simply need to go in an audio file and when I click on the place in global view, I want to see the marker exactly where I clicked so that I could know which part to cut. Also cant zoom in to see only the audio to clear it up. And I have to mute the rest to hear only the chosen file. So how to go into one selected audio?

And if I cut off something it permanently deletes and cannot undo.

For now, I just run between my PC and Mac, do editing here, copy to pendrive, back to Mac, place them in the right position!

Maybe I didn't follow your post, but why cant you do all your editing within the arrange window? You can view down to the sample level in the arrange page, giving it the same editing capabilities as the sample editor, yet you can still see your markers. BTW, use the "SPL to marker" functions to easily see your marker position while zoomed into your audio.

thank you, but I cant solve it. I am very new to Logic, dont know what BTW is, dont know SPL to marker, it is like foreign language. But never mind, I dont wanna drive you all mad with new questions in every second. I will just take a lesson sometime to have the basics first and come back only with unexpeted problems. Thanks again...
