AndPSan
EDITED: Hi! I need to separate a MIDI track (drums) to separated tracks. I want all pieces (bass drum, snare drum, hi hats, etc) separated. After that, I need to bounce them. How can I do that? Cheers!

AndPSan
I have a groove that I made with Ezdrummer and I want separated midi tracks to convert eachone to audio. Ezdrummer puts the groove on a single track! Is it possible? Cheers!
David Nahmani
Yes. What's the final goal - I mean why do you need separated audio files for each drum? I may suggest different answers depending on the final goal, which is why I ask.
AndPSan
Well, the studio technician wants separated tracks (audio) to process the sound himself. I think he's going to f*ck th sound, but what should I do?
Eric Cardenas
Well, the studio technician wants separated tracks (audio) to process the sound himself. I think he's going to f*ck th sound, but what should I do? Here's two options: 1 • Solo the drums in Logic. • Open the plug-in end solo the kick in the EZ mixer. • Bounce • Open the plug-in end solo the snare in the EZ mixer. • Bounce ................ ................ ................ 2 • Insert EZ as a multi output. • Create AUX:es and route the different drums to different outputs. • Set the output of the Aux channels to different buses. IE AUX 1 to bus 11, AUX 2 to bus 12 bus so on... • Create new tracks and assign the input to these buses. • Rec-enable the new tracks and press REC. thindave
#2 above is probably what you want - remember to set the output to Multichannel in the EzDrummer mixer (click on Trk1's output and choose Multichannel). Then click the "+" on the drum's track in the channel strip to create the additional Aux channels... This way you can add plug-ins or eq each channel independently.. David Nahmani
I think he's going to f*ck th sound, but what should I do? Well hopefully he's going to IMPROVE the sound, but if you don't trust your engineer maybe you should hire someone your trust? But having individual drum "stems" is a perfectly legitimate request. David Nahmani
My advice: get someone who does! - or learn to do it yourself.

Let's see if I understand well: - Ezdrummer on I/O; - choose multi output (8xstereo) - On the ezdrummer mixer (inside the program), set each piece to separated tracks (bass drum on track 1, snare drum on track 2, etc) - And then...? I don't understand nothing about AUX channels! Can someone help me? Cheers!

redlogic
The Manual is (should be) your friend. From page 772: When a multi-output instrument such as the EXS24 mkII is inserted into an instrument channel strip, several aux channel strip assignments are made “behind the scenes.” You then must create the required number of aux channel strips by clicking the Add (+) button at the bottom of the instrument channel strip. Each time you click it, a new aux channel strip is created (and automatically assigned to particular instrument outputs). Check out pages 772-777. AndPSan
I didn't know how to create AUX channels. Now I understand what I was doing wrong! Thanks you all. Cheers!
skylark
EDITED: I need to separate a MIDI track (drums) to separated tracks. I want all pieces (bass drum, snare drum, hi hats, etc) separated. After that, I need to bounce them. Sounds like the guy just wants to *EXPLODE* the MIDI drum info on one track into separate tracks and then bounce the individual MIDI tracks into audio tracks. Non? I have a friend that created a macro to handle this, but I don't know how to do it myself.

Control-click (or right-click) the MIDI region, then choose MIDI > Separate by Note Pitch from the shortcut menu.
