lawgic
1) I've got a solo piano piece that I played rubato. No metronome. There are a few passages that I would like to make all of the notes quarter notes. Is there a function for this? I do not need the original timing (the original timing is nowhere close), I just want each note, regardless of the rhythm to be a quarter note. Quantise is not working so far because it turns the faster rhythms into chords 2) Similarly, I would like to be able to select a group of consecutive notes and make them a chord. 3) I have a chord in the RH piano part. Is there a way to have one of these stems facing up, and one facing down in the same chord? I did a lot of editing last night in the piano roll and realized that if there was a simple way to do these 3 things I would have saved a lot of time. ANY ideas would be helpful to me. Thanks! Thanks! #1 and #2 are easy. 1. Highlight the notes in the Score Editor and then open the Event List. 2. While holding the Shift and Options keys, drag the values Event List until it read - 1 0 0 or you can do the same visually in the Piano Roll. #3 is a little more complicated as you have to assign a Polyphonic Staff Style. Read up on staff styles in the manual starting on page 960.

lawgic
beautiful! I no longer need to be afraid of the event list. It appears to be my friend. The only thing I can't seem to be able to do is lengthen beyond the measure. For instance, is there a way to turn a measure of 16th notes into 4 measures of quarter notes? You can if the region is long enough.
Music Spirit
I would like to be able to select a group of consecutive notes and make them a chord. I find the easiest way to do this is: 1 - Select the first or earliest note of the chord and use the Key Command "Go to Selection" - the Playhead will jump immediately to that note 2- Shift select all the consecutive note you want and then use the Key Command "Pick Up Clock" - all those notes will jump forward in time and cling to the first note you selecting making a chord. 3 - Assuming you want them all the same length, select them all in the Piano Roll and then pressing Shift and Option at the same time and grab the end of the regions with the mouse pointer and drag the region as long or as short as you want. They will uniformly adjust their length to what ever you drag them to, long or short * * * Once you are familiar with these key commands you will accomplish this in a trice!
