EdgarRothermich
The new Stylus RMX update 1.9e is 64bit and the interesting part is the following sentence from their press release: Mac 64-bit support: This version includes 64-bit support on the Mac. At the moment, the only 64-bit host on the Mac is AULab 2.0.1, but expect more shortly. "Expect more shortly"... from whom, Spectrasonics (working on their own DAW), or from Apple (because they are running already a 64bit Logic9.1 version)
David T
Thanks for the heads up. This good news and makes you wonder what to come. Downloading the the update now.
dkgross
I'd say the new Trillian Bass will be 64bit native as well...6 weeks or so out. And there's a few Omnisphere glitches in Snow Leopard and Logic 9...I'd look for an update there as well.
EdgarRothermich
I just talked to Spectrasonics tech support this evening and the guy told me that the Omnisphere update (including the Plugin Preset fix) is in the testing phase and should be released pretty soon, although no confirmed date. dkgross
sweeet. the RMX upgrade certainly fixed the ugliness in L9. Sure wish Apple was a quick to the draw with bug fixes as Spectrasonics is.
muziksculp
Is this an indication that (LP9 64-bit update) is around the corner ? IMHO, for Spectraonics to go through the additional effort of updating RMX to 64-bit Plug-in Instrument in OSX-SL is a clear indication that they know that some of the most popular OSX DAWs will become 64-bit, (Including LP9 !), and possibly have an early release version of LP9.1/64-bit from Apple, for testing, and development. What's your guess ?
fuzzfilth
I'd rather have Apple fix the bugs so L9 becomes actually usable before moving from 32bit to even just 33, let alone 64. Christian
muziksculp
I would love to see both bug fixes, and LP9/64-bit come bundled up together in the next LP9 update ! I simply think 64-bit on OSX-SL for a pro application like LP9 is way overdue. I had high hopes that LP9 will be released AFTER OSX-SL is out, and offer 64-bit functionality, sadly that was not the case.
